The Main Event!

Okay so on Monday 20th May 2013 I was performing at a show called "The Main Event" at Bucks SU which was put together by the Musicians Society. 

The night was great one I was on a high by the end of the night and felt like I could just perform everyday. The dream is real just need to make it a reality! Funny enough after my performance I found out that Daniel Pearce was there. He's a musician that was a finalist on TV Show Popstars: The Rivals, was on XFactor and has done collabs with  Dizzee Rascal. Funny thing was after I sang and came down and was mingling he was looking over at me but I did not recognise him. He look really familair but I just couldnt place his face until my flatemate told me who he was.

Omarion - Admire......FAIL

OMG so I was chilling with my friend doing some work and we took a break to listen to some music and we stumbled across this Omarion (formerly from B2K......yes I was a B2K fan with posters up and everything) track of his new album I think.

I think he looks terrible.....

Now I was utterly disppointed and disgusted by this song and video. It was basically watching porn with music. Strippers in this video basically dry humping Omarion in this video and I know tits and ass sells but seriously? This video is essentially telling our young women that being a stripper is glamorous lifestyle. So here's this porn video.....try not to enjoy.

Now I have to say I was mostly disappointed in Tank as I love is his voice and his latest album is one of my favourites, I played it for week and weeks. This collab is truly a problem and I expected more from Tank not the others as Omarion wasn't really my favourite, his music was okay but I wasn't really blown away to be honest and who is this Problem dude?
But on a level Tank you need to fix up and not do theses collabs....it was like watching a theoritical collab between Tyrese and Nicki Manj which would be an epic FAIL.

How does a BLACK woman mess up boiled dumpling?

Well it's possible because I did it....see what had happened was!
Okay so I decided at some ridiculous hour to cook boiled dumpling to have with my saltfish and fried for tomorrow's lunch. Now I figured if you can fry dumpling boiling should be a piece of cake but oh laws how it went wrong and tasted NOTHING like momma's. I did it how I was supposto but I'm not sue what went wrong. Good thing Easter break is coming up I can practice under momma's supervision and get this right. I know the first time it wouldn't be perfect but expected more.

I am not defeated...slightly discouraged but I will try again soon and I will let you know if this black woman failed making boiled dumpling twice...LOL. So in the end I ended up having fried dumpling instead as I have perfected those :)

Learning to be a domesticated Goddess in the kitchen, as I already know now to clean is hard. I swear my future husband betta be appreciative of all my efforts to win his heart. As the best way to a mans heart is through is stomach :) And trus I know this too well. Start dating...man wants to know Can you cook?

My Top 10 Favourite songs!!!

1. Justin Timberlake - Mirrors

I am just in love with this song I just can't get enough! Justin is back and the sound is amazing. I have always loved him and he is so talented. This track is my song of the year....yes I know there will be more song through the year but i don't suspect any can top it for me. 

2. Bridget Kelly - Special Delivery

This is my song! Can't remember how I stumbled across this song but I love it. Bridget has a beautiful voice and love listening to it on choice.fm as they just keep playing it. 

3. Atumpan - The Thing

 I started listening to Choice.FM again recently (usto listen all the time some years ago) and I heard it a few times and loved it. The minute I hear the song I blast my speakers and start dancing. 

4. Fuse ODG - Antenna

Okay so this song I am absolutely loving and yes I know 'm late as everyone has heard it for time but its new to me so whatever! I started listening to Choice.FM again recently (usto listen all the time some years ago) and I heard it a few times and loved it. You listen and can't help but move your body to the rhythm which I love!

When looking for the song on YouTube I initially found this video. This is a great video and the girl is a good dancer, makes me wish I could dance this good. I truly enjoyed watching them :)

5. Rhianna feat Chis Brown - Nobody's business

Okay so Rhianna is on it lately and he songs are on point. I have been loving what she's been doing musically. I love the collaboration  on this songs as their voices compliment each other. 

6. Macklemore - Same Love

I like this song as it is honest wether you believe in same sex or not. I like the female vocal and the simplicity of the song. The video was made is support of marriage equality and it supports the fight some people are fighting for, for a cause. 

7. Wiley feat Chipmunk - Reload

Now lately Wiley has just been doing it for me musically lately from heatwave, can you hear me and now reload. With all three I love the vocal hook first then the rest of the song. 

8. Labrinth feat Emeli Sande - Beneath your Beautiful

This song is so beautiful and a favourite of mine for a while. Emeil has been doing great and I can't wait to see her care further evolve in years to come. 

9. Laura Mvula - Green Garden

Laura is becoming a fav for me and this song is a good example of her talent. I first stumbled across her on itunes when they offered a free song of the week. This song was played to my class during a seminar and the minute i heard it there was no question.

10. Angel - The World

The day I heard wonderful I knew I would like most of his stuff. I love he voice and this song is another one I love. I can't want to see him do great things with his career.

DISRESPECT MY JESUS....what?!?

Disclaimer: This is my opinion, if you are offended then.....also to any "offensive" t-shirt wearers God loves you even if I don't!

Okay so I was browsing my Facebook and came across a picture of a guy wearing a disrespectful T-Shirt which said "Jesus is a Cunt" and I have to say I was highly offended, even angered to say the least. I was actually thankful I was not out "on a night out" and saw that as I would have just been in a bad mood.  I was actually amazed that someone had created such a t-shirt. So t satisfy my curiosity  i decided to google it, which i felt horrible typing Jesus is a C*** in my search engine...also it being in my search history. Anyways from my search I found other people wearing the same tshirt. What U do not understand is why? If you do not know about something and ignorantly bliss then why hate?!?

 


If you chose not to believe in Jesus then why disrespect...why not accept and be a respectful upstanding member of society? Just looking at these images makes me cringe and frustrates me but what can I do.....everyone is entitles to freedom of speech and to express themselves how they want. What I can say is that I can be a  lackadaisical Christian at times just this not one of those times. I believe I am a daughter of the most high and you call him a .....so essentially your calling me a c***. 

So what is the t-shirt for people rebelling....not wanting to conform? Rebelling against the one who made it possible for you to even exist. Oh wait never mind  he did not create you as you probably believe you evolved from monkeys.

Now I do not believe in Allah but I do not find it funny for people to make fun of any religion and being straight up disrespectful! Looking at this image below I'm in shock can't believe this guy actually showed his face.

So you wanna call my Jesus a c*** well your a...............okay well Jesus would want me to be more like him and forgive....turn the other cheek. Okay so because I know I'm human and I can only strive to be like him I will hold my tongue but be blissfully ignorant but seriously be SILENT (in what you wear and say). But you can wear what you want and degrade but I and many others will were other things that will uplift, inspire and praise his name...JESUS.

Plus Sized Fashion Finds

Okay so lately I have been coming across some great "Plus Sized Fashion" finds and my latest is

Getting and wearing the right underwear is most important for plus sized women. We are not fortunate to go into any store and find perfect fitting underwear (bras and knickers) so we must make sure were wearing good ones. There's no point wearing a fantastic outfit and looking good on the outside but your underwear underneath looks bad! I personally like looking good from my sexy lace knickers to my beautiful satin and well fitted dress. Now ladies wearing sexy underwear is not just for a mans benefit it can make you feel great too, I know it does that for me too.

R.I.P. Dalvin Bwoga 2000-2013

Today was a kinda a sad one because our family bird (pet), called Dalvin died. We had Dalvin for 13 years I think and he was our first pet before we got another bird years later called Angel, who dies a few years ago. Initially I remember being afraid of Dalvin as he scared me when he flew and i just did not do birds, but with time he grew on me. I will miss him and his singing to the music I played or while I was singing. I will also miss how he liked me best (i played him music) even though he is technically my sisters bird and how i made him vain. He has to be the only bird I know that loved to look at himself at hours at a time. When my sis called to tell me, I wasn't shocked as we were talking about it earlier as he was sick and the vet suggested months ago to put him to sleep. But surprisingly I cried minutes later and couldn't stop for a while....funny how an animal so small can have such an effect on me.
